Core States Group has worked closely with Bloomenergy to incorporate their breakthrough Fuel Cell technology into large, well known facilities such as Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Stop & Shop and AT&T throughout the country. Much of the involvement was in the state of Connecticut, where the Connecticut Siting Council held jurisdiction over such types of projects. This enabled the applicant to bypass a city's typical planning / zoning process and go straight to the building department for the required permits. In other states such as New York, the planning / zoning process remained a part of the approval process. Design intent included electrical, mechanical, structural and civil elements to ensure safe, reliable and effective installation and maintenance. Ultimately, the fuel cells allowed each facility to reduce their electricity costs and, accordingly, pollutants to the environment. Further, the fuel cells offered the opportunity for continued electric power during grid-related outages.

Suntuity is a globally-operating clean energy company providing clients with residential, commercial and utility scale energy solutions. Projects are delivered in numerous states throughout the US and other countries throughout the world. Responsibilities included all engineering, design, planning and permitting for all solar and generator projects sourced from the Holmdel office.Close client interaction to ensure Suntuity is able to meet their goals and expectations.Evaluation of various sites in terms of their feasibility for solar, adequacy of existing structure / land and electrical equipment, optional locations for new equipment, etc.Coordination with outside consultants to obtain information and documents such as land surveys, wetlands delineations, utility locations, topography, etc.Use of various programs, inclusive of AutoCAD, SketchUp, PV Watts, Microsoft Office, etc., as well as the National Electric Code, to design residential, commercial and utility scale projects.Work with townships to understand their requirements for planning, zoning, construction, etc., attend meetings / hearings and provide professional testimony as required.Complete and provide permit packages, tech sheets, signed and sealed plans, manufacturers' specifications, etc.Coordinate with manufacturers and suppliers for solutions, material pricing, availability and delivery.Maintain close correspondence with sales and delivery teams to ensure that all necessary information is acquired, processed and made available for installation crews.Provide monitoring solutions, customer support and troubleshooting to ensure systems operate properly and to their maximum efficiency.

BSG is an engineering and consulting firm. Work with the company included development of various residential, commercial, retail and mixed-use sites throughout the state of New Jersey. Varying urban or suburban settings and new or redevelopment projects each presented new and challenging conditions to be factored into the overall design. Evaluated conceptual layout iterations in progression to a final design, inclusive of building placement, vehicular and pedestrian egress and accessibility and site grading.Designed safe, practical and adequate stormwater, sanitary sewer and potable water systems under regulation of state and local requirements.Worked with public utility companies to determine their design and parameters, frequently with minimal land availability / tight tolerances.Designed stormwater measures such as detention and infiltration basins, wetponds, infiltration systems, and filtration units to satisfy water quality and quantity requirements.Determined stream encroachment limits and the respective flood fringe, floodway and flood volume to assure development / disturbance outside said areas.Delineated wetlands areas and provided buffer averaging to maximize land use.Completed earthworks calculations to determine overall quantities of material to be imported or exported from a site.Coordinated among architects, engineers, planners, attorneys, developers, etc to ensure agreement of design and acquisition of various local, county and state approvals.Provided clients with detailed cost estimates for proposed site work.Coordinated and scheduled field survey work and construction work / inspection.Worked closely with the state and developer to apply for, obtain and utilize funding through the NJEIT program.Served as the on-site resident engineer to document progress and to solve problems as encountered by the foreman / crew.Reviewed and submitted construction invoices to clients for work completed.
