Engineering and project implementation strategies for lakes and shorelines, industrial waterfront facilities, and municipalities, including waterside development, sediment management, and environmental remediation. Mr. Whelan's 23 years of experience in civil, environmental, and geotechnical engineering has been focused, in part, on dredging and civil earthwork design, protection and restoration of shorelines and streams, waste removal and disposal, and private and public site development. His experience spans U.S. coastal areas, California, the Pacific NW, the Rocky Mountain region, Hawaii, and international locations. Mr. Whelan’s wide-ranging expertise is combined with a strong understanding of regulatory, environmental, and permitting-related issues, and he has considerable experience presenting technical and strategic arguments for multi-party mediation and legal deposition settings. While remaining closely affiliated with the firm's national engagements, particularly those on the West Coast and in California, Mr. Whelan also co-leads Anchor QEA’s growing presence in Denver and the Rocky Mountain region.
