For the past thirty years I have been employed in the environmental & sustainability fields. I have maintained my professionally competencies with continual training. I recently vacated the position Department of Education and Training Sustainability Coordinator, Asset Management. My position oversaw the Department of Education and Training’s vast property and asset portfolio with over 2500 sites in NSW. Most of the sites are schools and TAFE Colleges with a sizeable portfolio of office space. I have recently completed the initial stages of development and implementation of a NABERS for schools tool.Prior to entering the public sector I managed my own consulting practise, Gamtron Pty Ltd. I managed both small and large teams in environmental assessments including water quality modelling & site contamination assessments. We also designed and buildt specialising in hydraulic services, mechanical and civil components of water and sewerage treatment facilities, subdivisions, special use hospitality as well as road-works. My career’s variability has afforded me valuable experience in working towards providing a positive culture of high quality governance in dealings with key internal and external stakeholders. I have technical qualifications in plumbing and hydraulic design obtained through 5 years of working with Hydraulics design consultants early in my career and later with Maunsell & Partners working on the Sydney Harbour Tunnel and the Melbourne Tennis Centre. I have developed strong communication skills, both written and verbal through my role as executive officer of the Department’s Sustainability Strategy Management Group. This role requires me to manage the implementation of all sustainability advances in the DET by preparing reports for the executive which in a Department as large as DET are senior. I have also published a number of papers in international, technical journals.
