Confucius once said, “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” This statement by one of the great philosophers encompasses my ambitions and goals for my working career.I am currently working in the field of data analytics and have a special interest in working with Geographical Information Systems (GIS) , which I am extremely passionate about. I love analysing, manipulating and maintaining data housed within databases, as well as using spatial data, to find innovative and creative ways to solve existing problems. I have been working for a company called RAMM Technologies, which specializes in the domain of real-time asset monitoring and management. During this time, I have gained a significant amount of exposure working with databases and their associated systems and processes. More specifically I have developed various SQL queries to extract, update and maintain data within our databases. Furthermore I have a background in GIS and therefore have used GIS technologies and processes to solve existing problems. My job also includes a degree of research into new technologies within the field of data analytics, as our company is constantly growing and seeks to find new solutions to existing problems. In 2017 I finished my BSc(Hons) Geoinformatics degree, which I obtained from Stellenbosch University in the Western Cape, South Africa. During my time at Stellenbosch I gained a significant amount of experience and exposure to ArcGIS software as well as ENVI, Ecognition, QGIS, R and Python. In addition to these software packages I have also worked with Geoserver, ArcGIS online, SNAP, HTML5, JavaScript, SPSS and Statistica. Therefore, I am well versed in the current trends in technology.I am a motivated, consistent and hardworking individual, that loves a new challenge. I have experience working with people from all across the globe and love learning from others.
