My current role is the head of estate and facilities on a 1000-hectare site which compromises of >200 buildings (technical and domestic). Senior Lead For Land Equipment Assurance Team / Commander & Lead Auditor (Iso 9001 Certified)

I was responsible for managing, leading, planning, directing and forming small engineering audit teams from 9 different sites in the UK to deliver Land Equipment Audits (LEA) across the full breadth of the UK and for all Army and Royal Marines units operating overseas (permanent bases or operations). These teams consisted of Hybrid Workforce (mixture of Civil Servants and Service Personnel) and were deep subject matter exports in weapons, vehicles electronics, lifting and recovery equipment, medical and dental and communication equipment. I, or my appointed lead auditor highlighted to the CEO and non-compliance with respect to breaches in of legal regulations and/or non-conformance against Defence Policy. Part of the assessment includes assisting and advice to the CEO to reduce the risk and to put a plan in place the rectify the Areas of Non-Compliance/Conformance, identify further observations for continuous improvement and draw out any good/best practice.As a Lead Auditor I conducted the larger, more complex and overseas Audits. I audited the management, inspection, and maintenance criterion of their held equipment. As part of the assessment remit was the production of an Audit Report on each establishment’s performance, risk management and control measures and recommended improvements.As the LEA Commander, I reviewed all LEA reports (c500 pa), highlighting errors and omissions and was the arbitrator for any challenges or concerns raised by the CEO. The generated assurance was distributed to the Army’s Chief Engineer and the Defence Land Safety Regulator (where warranted) for information, risk mitigation action as part of the Engineering Assurance framework for the Army. It was directed that all the LEA cease travel to all engineering establishments during the COVID-19 restricted period. Due to the legislative and Risk to Life criterion audited by LEA, I needed to design, devise, plan and execute delivery of Remote Audits to meet statuary requirements.

In this capacity, I lead and co-ordinated the delivery of hands-on training to regimental personnel, administration of equipment care and maintenance to deliver GS Air Defence (AD) capability for the UK.Developed a bespoke trend analysis model tool with my Lead Quality Assurance Engineers to regain operational effectiveness and capability.
