In my role as Laboratory Supervisor I am responsible for everything that happens in my lab including, safety, ensuring tech are following SOP's, making sure reagents and supplies are available in sufficient supply, ensuring results are reported accurately and in a timely manner as well as scheduling and handling time off requests. As a Major in the Army National Guard my duties include leadership, logistics, project management, planning and engineering. Both of these positions and most jobs I have held require flexible thinking and the ability to react to dynamic, ever changing and often unpredictable environments.
