Michael has over 30 years experience in the construction industry. Having joined Mainbrace in 1992 as a leading hand carpenter, he now uses his all-round knowledge of the construction process to lead our project teams to successfully manage even the most challenging jobs. Michael’s direct management style, coaching capabilities and empathy for our teams in the field ensures a balanced approach to construction management.Michael commenced his career with Girvan Corporation as an apprentice carpenter in 1984, working on high rise and substantial commercial projects including Citadel Towers (Chatswood) and Apple Headquarters Australia (Frenchs Forest). Following the collapse of Girvan, Michael took time to travel before joining Mainbrace in 1992 as a foreman, making him one of the company’s longest serving employees.Michael’s drive, his innate ability to work with people, his attention to detail and his focus on time saw him progress quickly into project management.For more than a decade Michael ran as Mainbrace’s most senior project manager, completing over one hundred projects, forging the company’s reputation and building many of the relationships that underpin Mainbrace today. Michael has been an instrumental role model to many of the staff and his unique style of relationship based contracting while working professionally with integrity and accountability permeates the operational side of the business.As a result of Michael’s achievements he was offered an equity stake and directorship with Mainbrace in 2001. Michael is now a major shareholder in the business and is a highly influential and active leader.Michael is currently active in procuring work and providing expertise, advice and guidance early in the project lifecycle. While rarely running a project, Michael continues to coach and mentor our emerging staff to ensure they maximise their potential. He has a distinct ability to motivate and lead both individuals and teams to produce excellence.Specialties: Michael is an expert in retail construction techniques and programming, and has extensive experience in staging works in operational premises.
