Serving as the President/CEO and co-founder of Dream Builders 4 Equity, I am committed to addressing the vacant home epidemic in St. Louis City, empowering young people, and creating a more equitable community. Through our nonprofit organization, we teach ownership and agency while revitalizing and uplifting the Hyde Park neighborhood. Early in my career, I found solace in writing and transformed those writings into several literary works. These include a book of poetry titled "I Will Never Kill a Black Man" (2013), a children's workbook titled "Which is Best Test," and the book of poetry "Dark Matter" (2018). I also collaborated with creative millennials for the book "Voices" (2015). I advocate for collaboration and believe it is the foundation for success. This idea sparked the creation of Connected St. Louis, an organization formed to support Black Businesses and promote unity. Connected St. Louis' mission is to come together, plan together, and build together. There is no "I" in Connected, and you can't have community without the "Unity!". Together WE will be the change we want to see in our city. This journey has afforded me the privilege of supporting over 100 youth in St. Louis, extending assistance to seniors in our community, revitalizing my community, and championing numerous Black-owned businesses. Additionally, I've had the honor of gracing the TEDx stage, sharing my belief that "Ownership is the Key to Freedom."
