Michael is currently Director of MCW Environmental Consulting Pty Limited, which was established in January 2012. Prior to this, Michael was employed at URS between the period 1990 and January 2012. Prior to leaving URS Michael was Business Unit Manager for the Environmental Services Group in the Sydney Office. Michael has over twenty three years of experience in environmental management. Michael’s key areas of expertise are construction and mining environmental management, due diligence assessments, the development and implementation of Environmental Management Systems and Plans, mine closure cost estimation, and environmental compliance, risk, assurance and liability assessments. Michael has held Environmental Representative (ER) positions on the Colongra Gas Power Station project, Lane Cove Tunnel Project (2003-2008) and other infrastructure projects. Michael has assisted the NSW and Victorian governments develop and implement mine closure cost calculators for use in Security Bond estimation. Michael has conducted numerous HSEC assurance audits for the mining industry, including audits at mines located in Chile, China, Argentina, Philippines, South Africa and Australia.
