- Carried out research to de-risk academic research technologies for further commercialization.- Awarded SBIR and STTR grants (both as PI) to establish commercial feasibility of two novel technologies -- a cardiac organ-on-a-chip platform for preclinical drug screening, and a 3D bioprinted implantable tissue construct for therapeutic revascularization.- Successfully designed, benchmarked and validated a cardiac organ-on-a-chip platform for screening cardiac drugs, which was subsequently evaluated in several contract research projects.- Spearheaded a collaboration between Innolign and academic labs that successfully demonstrated proof-of-principle that 3D bioprinted implantable tissue constructs could be used as a cell-based therapeutic for revascularization of ischemic tissues. The results were published in two high-impact journals.

- Performed preliminary research on a microfabrication-based technology to engineer arrays of microscale cardiac muscle organoids (organ-on-a-chip) and 3D-bioprinting of cell/biomaterial constructs for vascular tissue engineering, resulting in co-inventorship of two patented technologies.- Co-authored SBIR and STTR grants to establish commercial feasibility of cardiac organ-on-a-chip and 3D-bioprinting technologies and obtain seed funding for Innolign Biomedical.

- Developed a microfabricated platform to measure cellular traction forces. Used this platform to study the role of vasoactive soluble factors in regulating endothelial cell contractility.
