Involved in mainframe move of application systems with third party products, on two occasions. Assisted on operating system upgrades for OS/390 and z/OS, twice a year, testing production applications and third party products. Continued archiving this data, for QBE.Created system to send reports to AXSPoint (COOL), via FTP, with COBOL program that ‘walked’ the DEB/TIOT/DCB, for report and data set names.Modified CCS system to send letters and certificates to eXstream Dialog, in a ‘pipe-delimited’ file.Monitoring and modifying production schedule for CA-JOBTRAC, to optimize the nightly production streams, to complete on their scheduled times or earlier. Part of the conversation and planning for a major release of the CRM software to release 5.00, which included:• Added three new Product lines to CRM• Increased the size of major keys in the databases, such as Telephone number, etc.• Added Century to the dates in the files, as Phase I, in preparation of Year 2000 changes.• Created “object” programs for reused code in multiple programs.For two years, took on the Team Leader/Manager position for the Inventory Team. Convert Data Ten/Investornet system's CICS and batch COBOL programs from MVS to DOS/VSE.Convert and upgrade the Data Ten Billing and Invoicing system to run at Systemhouse. Provided assistance to Systemhouse on problems and/or modifications to the Billing and Invoicing system. Assisted on transferring Data Ten client base to Systemhouse. Design and wrote COBOL programs for a new Systemhouse client, to produce four to a page, association fee payments books for a year. Wrote QUIKJOB to convert VSAM database files to comma delimited files that is transferred to a PC. Wrote COBOL and QUIKJOB programs to replace a letter/label writing assembler programs. Assisted clients of Data Ten, then Systemhouse, for various services.Technical representative for Data Ten, to a major client. Instituted programming and production standards, upgraded update procedures and programs, and DASD management on over thirty 3380 disk drives.Did ad hoc reporting, in QUIKJOB, for major financial institution, as well as, maintained accumulating G/L file of financial data that was used in the reporting.Continuing changes and maintenance on Data Ten's own billing and Invoicing system.Wrote Command Level COBOL program as a on-line interface between the mainframe computer, and a remote home debit ATM card reader.General training and assistance to customers and staff.Involved in the writing of approximately 200 COBOL, and over 1,000 QUIKJOB programs during this period.
