Use electronic locating devices, site plans, maps and/or atlases to accurately mark the location of underground facilities. Demonstrates familiarity with telecommunications, sewer, water, streetlight, and traffic signal facilities. Prepares and submits backup documentation for each locate. Documentation may include, but is not limited to, daily reports, locate tracking forms, and photos. Is also responsible for supervising active construction work and/or maintenance work on existing and future facilities.

Maintains installs, operates, and performs maintenance on cable and wire communications systems, communication security devices, circuit packs, switches, relays, amplifiers and associated switchboards. Repair and maintain telephone equipment such as switching equipment, multiplexers, carrier systems, and fiber optics.
