I am nearing the end of a successful NQT year at Oldbury Academy. In this time, I have worked with a range of pupils in terms of ability, behaviour and age. I have also been given additional responsibility working alongside the SENCO as a SEN link for the science faculty.

This role has allowed me to work both in a classroom environment and on a one to one basis with pupils who have SEN. I am a key worker to multiple pupils who have severe learning difficulties and EHCPs, and am often involved in annual reviews. I organise and run interventions for small groups of pupils to help them with their communication skills, build confidence and deal with their emotions in a positive manner.

Temporary 8 week contract to cover the busy summer period whilst children are off school.This role involved working in the retail shop at the end of the Cadbury World tour and sometimes working alone in the smaller shop in the outside attraction. The role involved serving customers in a fast-paced environment, working as part of a team and replenishment of stock.

Electric Retail assistant is much like a deputy supervisor role. I was often left in charge to run the store and deal with typical daily managerial roles, along with the typical responsibilities of a retail assistant including customer service, replenishment and stock management. I did not gain the deputy supervisor role until June 2015; up until that point, I was a retail assistant that involved all of the general assistant responsibilities.

My responsibilities included providing customers with as good a service as possible, and maintaining the cleanliness of the establishment to abide with health and safety guidelines.

As part of a teaching course I did during my A-Levels, I was able to get some work experience as a teaching assistant in my school on one afternoon every week. My responsibilities during this experience included organising starter activities for the pupils in the class, helping pupils on a one to one level and in groups, to help develop their learning and skills.
