Rhel Systems Administrator – U.S. Census Bureau Contract
Current• Primary responsibilities include management of RHEL 6/7/8 servers on virtual, cloud, and bare metal platforms, act as technical lead for incident response, 24x7 on-call rotation, OS and security patching, and customer support. • Troubleshoot system and network problems: examine server and application logs for root cause analysis, and use system tools such as sar, top and htop, ifconfig, systemctl, nslookup, tcpdump, ps, and netstat for further troubleshooting and configuration testing. • Configure and troubleshoot selinux policies, contexts, and booleans to correct system errors, implement requirements for customer applications and filesystems, and maintain system security. • Configure systemd and firewalld services for applications and system management. • Deploy storage for new and existing filesystems on bare metal and virtual systems, including disk formatting and partitioning, creating and expanding physical and logical volumes, and creating and expanding filesystems (ext4, xfs, swap, gfs2, nfs, enfs). • Install and maintain software from satellite and local repositories using dnf, yum, rpm, and Ansible Tower. • Configure sudo rights and permissions, adhering to policy of least privilege. • Use Remedy ticketing system to maintain and document all requests in accord with change management policies.
