The Patient Account Representative functions independently within a payer team environment to appropriately resolve patient Medicare/Medicaid accounts by performing billing and follow-up activities to effectively collect balances due on assigned accounts. Maintaining rapport with the Medicare/Medicaid representatives create ease for outstanding balance resolution thus increasing the overall patient experience with UVM Medical Center as a whole.• Payment collection: effectively collaborate with the insurance payer team to properly and efficiently bill patient accounts by resolving billing mistakes for billing collection. • Error resolve: work closely with the Medical Coding Department to resolve claim edits and errors on patient accounts.• HIPPA Practice: complete training and maintain patient confidentiality throughout every aspect of work completed.
