Each course was an introduction to the tourism industry and the many different aspects that are involved. Through the seminars I was able to engage with my students on the themes for the week and guide their learning and discussions. Internship
During my internship I was involved in designing a survey and conducting it on Kpala Island, Ghana. I lived on this island collecting qualitative data for an upcoming solar project. This was base-line research, that was intended to get an understanding of the community and their needs. The project was going to bring solar energy to the community that was affordable. The community based research was a key aspect of the internship, as well as the report that I conducted at the end of the internship. The report was a critical analysis and recount of the experience as well as the NGO and its projects. I also assisted in facilitating the introduction of science kits to the local teachers, and discussed the potential it could have in the classroom.
