I am a dedicated individual advocating for mental healthcare and committed to making it accessible to all, ensuring everyone receives the support they need. I am attending San Diego State University full-time to pursue my undergraduate degree in Psychology. After graduation, I plan to attend the school psychology graduate program. I expect to specialize in adolescent therapy with underserved populations. My interest in pursuing a career in therapy came from personal experiences and the urge to help others. I have a solid commitment to playing my part in promoting mental healthcare to all people.As a Group Leader for the Expanded Learning Program at Santee School District, I work with a diverse group of twenty-five students from 4th to 8th grade. My primary focus is nurturing their emotional, social, and communication skills through activities. Being directly involved with my students every day allows me to directly apply what I have learned, which further cements my aspiration of becoming a school psychologist.I seek professional growth opportunities with multidisciplinary teams to influence the lives of children and their families regarding mental health and well-being. I believe in permanent education since there are always new skills within the latest emotional management techniques.
