I worked under the mentorship of Dr. Charles Kim and Dr. Owen Chan on a research project titled "Close Surgical Margins in Radical Prostatectomy and PSA Recurrence". Through this internship, I also shadowed physicians from a variety of different specialties, attended career talks, participated in cultural immersion events, and learned additional research skills through didactic workshops.

Under supervision from Dr. Howard Shen, I was responsible for leading weekly recitations for a class of 20 students as well as grading weekly quizzes, homework, and exams. In addition to the expected responsibilities of this position, I created mnemonics, visual analogies, and diagrams to assist my students in understanding the course content. I also collaborated with 2 other teaching interns to host Kahoot review sessions for the 2 midterm exams and final exam.

I worked under the mentorship of Dr. Vierkoetter on a research project addressing the clinicopathologic features of Human Papillomavirus-associated and independent Vulvar Squamous Cell Carcinoma. The Manoa Cottage care home is a 24 bed assisted living facility specializing in Dementia and Alzheimer's long term care. My primary responsibilities as a nurse aide were to assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, using the toilet, ambulating, and eating. In addition to this, my work as a nurse aide also included monitoring a cottage of 8 residents to ensure their safety which often involved calming confused and/or agitated residents in the later evenings.
