This role was to assist the company accountant with the day-to-day tasks in the finance department. Tasks included AP and AR, allocating customer payments, creating customer invoices, posting supplier invoices, employee expenses, monthly DD, journal postings, bank reconciliations and monthly Intrastat.

I was recruited to the finance department to help during the process of an IT system changeover which involved data migration, working with the AP and AR teams to help get data up to date for the transition. Other tasks included daily bank reconciliations, allocating payments, daily closing of jobs and invoicing, weekly sales reports, monthly billing, and management information for insurance companies.

As an Accounts Assistant in a small company, I was responsible for accounts payable and accounts receivable roles and month end responsibilities. The main duties of the role included:• Creating customer invoices and allocating customer payments.• Analysing weekly cash collection reports and following up on overdue accounts.• Creating purchase orders and approving supplier invoices for payment.• Processing weekly payment runs to suppliers and monthly intercompany payment.• Preparation of weekly cash flow.• Preparation and posting of manual journals for accruals and prepayments.• Month end tasks including balance sheet reconciliations, approving journals for goods in transit, IC transactions, accruals, and FX adjustments.• Filing Intrastat and VIES on monthly basis.• Preparation for yearly audit and assisting with queries.• Other ad-hoc duties within the finance area.

As an Audit Senior in the Consumer Technology Business Department in Deloitte the key responsibilities were managing audit assignments and developing client relationships. The position of Audit Senior gave me the opportunity to gain experience working in companies of varying size, background, and industries. This included companies in the food, pharmaceutical, retail, logistics, telecommunications, engineering and hotel industries, stud farms and not-for-profit entities.
