I graduated from Northern Michigan University in 2023 after completing a four-year bachelor's degree in Ecology and double minored in Outdoor recreation and Renewable Energies. I was a three-time NCAA Division 2 All-American swimmer. During my time at NMU, I learned a lot about time management and balancing my time with school, sports, friends, and family. I worked at Down Wind Sports during my time in Marquette and got a glimpse into the outdoor recreation realm. I gained a lot of experience in customer service and I enjoyed meeting a lot of new people and listening to people's stories. Intrigued by the outdoor industry, I signed up for a NOLS 30-day backcountry rock climbing course in 2022. I learned how to backpack, crack climb, live outdoors, set up climbing anchors, as well as leadership and effective communication skills. Since graduating, I completed an internship with Colorado Outward Bound School, where I gained experience in outdoor education and working with students to teach them both hard and soft skills such as backpacking, rock climbing, communication, leadership, conflict resolution, and many others. I would say my biggest assets are communication, open-mindedness, relatability, and learning new skills quickly.
