I wrote scripts, web stories and ticker stories for Good Day Wisconsin, Fox 11's weekend news program. I also followed up on overnight and breaking news through calls to area authorities. Finally, I edited some video for the newscast using Avid NewsCutter.

My responsibilities as editor-in-chief of the Fourth Estate newspaper included editing copy and layout of weekly paper, providing guidance for section editors and staff writers, communicating with other organizations and businesses on behalf of the Fourth Estate and working with the managing editor and adviser to plan activities for class.

As managing editor of the Fourth Estate, I was responsible for communicating among editor-in-chief, section editors, writers and other organizations. This role included addressing and solving any conflict that arose. I also copy edited stories in the newspaper, answered emails and planned class activities.

As entertainment editor of the Fourth Estate, I assigned weekly stories to staff writers. I then copy edited those stories and created an InDesign layout each week. I wrote one story per week as well for the Entertainment section. I also provided constructive criticism and ways to improve for writers.
