I am currently working on a waste electricals expansion project and rolling out a communications campaign to promote the new service, including writing press releases, developing paid and organic social media content, out-of-home advertising, internal and external stakeholder engagement, infrastructure implementation and logistics management. One such project is a tech reuse scheme in all libraries across the borough as part of the national ‘Recycle your Electricals’ campaign. Engage regularly with the general public at events educating people on Veolia, what happens to their waste and how to move waste up the waste hierarchy.Contract team lead of our education offering which includes liaising and working with schools to organise visits to the site, assemblies and workshops. I design workshops and presentations to educate students on waste, recycling and protecting our environment. I have also organised other educational offerings such as Veolia Orchards and the Eco Leaders Programme.

In this role, I was the sole receptionist for the downtown office. I answered calls, emails and helped clients in their day-to-day use of the office. I was responsible for the upkeep of the office, including keeping stock of inventory and supplies, keeping the office clean, printer troubleshooting, and making coffee. In this role, I also processed the legal listing documentation as well as entering in listings on the listing software for all the agents in the downtown office and ensured it was all compliant with the law.

Cork Zero Waste is a voluntary group that aims to build awareness and educate people on resource use in the city of Cork and promote the circular economy. In this role I organized zero waste events and campaigns. I also engaged with various stakeholders and business owners in Cork City to assist them in reducing and managing their waste.

As a Brand Ambassador, I carried out much of the administrative tasks and ran the social media for the Cork Instagram Page. I also organized events such as swap shops to encourage people to engage with sustainable fashion and to endorse the platform. I also spoke and represented Nu at several high-profile events.

My role here involved guiding tours of the wildlife park for primary aged school children, and public talks on the animals, as well as patrolling the park. This job required me to engage with the public, informing them of the various animals in the park and the importance of conservation. This busy work environment enabled me with the skills to manage large groups of people and to deliver information in a clear, and concise manner that both adults and small children alike could understand.

In this role, I taught and created a module titled: ‘Guardians of The Environment’ along with another instructor. We both designed the module outline and taught it to kids aged between 11-17. We thought them about a wide range of environmental issues, the native fauna and flora of Ireland, play games and make it an overall fun and interactive experience by engaging the children in arts and crafts. I had responsibility for the children’s well- being. I learned a great deal of patience and the importance of time keeping and ensuring every child was engaged and enjoying themselves.
