As I worked at Greenville Rehabilitation as a dietary aid, I got to form relationships with senior individuals, as I learned how to gain their trust and formed deep connections with many residents. While I worked at Rogers Jewelers as a saleswoman, I was able to learn a lot during this time about communication and empathy, especially when a customer is distressed, and they need someone to understand their needs. For the past five months I have worked as a substitute teacher, where I have the privilege to work with students of all ages. I accepted a permanent sub position for preschool three days a week where I can teach these kids ways to calm down as well as problem-solve. I get to also teach them how to understand their emotions, and how to breathe through them.I am very grateful for all the experience and opportunities I have had thus for at work and in school, and I strive to keep learning and working to be the best I can be.
