I oversee the daily activities of up to four infants at a time. The infants range from 6 weeks to 12 months old. i am responsible for engaging with the children and families, establishing rapport with them. I keep records of attendance, feedings, and nap times.

I was put in charge of a classroom for about three hours a day. At the end of the workday, I was responsible for all 50+ kids along with four other teachers and two directors. I helped children with homework and projects, played with the children, and made sure they were fed snacks. I was put in charge of completing activities with my children and completing three to four bulletin boards every year. During the pandemic, I was put in charge of multiple grades to ensure that they completed their homework on time and attended all their required meetings. Due to this, I now have an understanding of Google Classroom along with Microsoft Office.

I was responsible for caring for the children in the nursery on Sunday mornings as well as helping with children's church activities on Sunday nights. I was put into an assistant-style position alongside the director, meaning I did clerical work and ran errands (using the Children's Ministry account) for the Children's Ministry director during my internship. This included making copies, creating bulletin boards, and helping decorate during events.

I helped grab shoes for guests to try on, I put shoes away in the stockroom as well, and grabbed handbags for these guests. I checked guests out and handle cash. I made sales throughout my shifts as well. I was required to lift objects weighing up to ~10-15 pounds and required to stand for up to 6 hours during a shift.

I greeted guests as they walked in, told them the soups of the days, and also took cash. I also learned how to make salads and pizzas while working here. I also helped run food. I was required to be on my feet for up to 4-6 hours at a time. I also was required to clean bathrooms, front kitchen area, and the dining room before closing.

I greeted guests as they came into the restaurant and as they left and I took them to their table. I also expedited food and ran food while working at this restaurant. I was required to be on my feet from 5-9 hours at a time. I helped clean bathrooms, expediting area, and helped with the dining area cleaning. I was required to maintain a clean uniform (white button up and black slacks) throughout my entire shift.

Greater Nashville Area, Tn

Every Monday and Thursday, mothers would come into Nashville First Baptist Church. They would sit with tutors throughout the night to study for their GED exams. While they were studying, I would help watch their children. I, along with other workers, would help the children finish their homework, play games and keep them entertained, and help with snack time and bible story. I was able to help care for a large amount of children through this program and it really added to my love of children.
