Our Workforce Support and Development division delivers statewide learning that helps state agencies and quasi-governmental organizations meet their crucial business outcomes, including leadership development and eLearning resources. Our competitively priced, statewide Employee Assistance Program (EAP) helps employees and their family members resolve personal and work-related issues confidentially and at no charge. For our state agency customers, DES provides talent acquisition resources to help organizations build their workforce of the future. Our Human Resources Team acts as HR business partners, helping provide organizational solutions to DES and more than 30 small agencies, boards and commissions.

Oversee Human Resources, Safety and Return-to-Work functions for the Department of Enterprise Services and 33 small agencies, councils and commissions throughout the state. Provide leadership and guidance to agency directors and executive managers and strategic business decisions. Currently leading the team through a transformation project from a traditional HR and Safety shop to Strategic Business Partners.

As the most senior member of the Human Resources Office, administered oversight and direction for the full range of HR activities, staff and services. Acted as the agency decision authority for determining compliance with federal and state employment laws, HR regulations, policies and practices. Provided strategic direction to the agency Director and Executive Management for the most effective, creative and flexible use of available resources.

Manage a team of statewide consultants in providing recruitment and career services to roughly 7,000 employees within DOT and the Transportation Commission. Responsible for providing senior level confidential consultation in all matters including performance management, compensation, appointments, labor relations and grievance, discipline, FMLA, reasonable accommodation, reallocation, recruitment/retention, and succession planning. Conduct full life cycle recruitments from pre-advertisement performance profiling to negotiating job offers.

Bahia Principe is a Spanish Resort Chain that offers a family style, all-inclusive five star vacation. I worked for the Bahia Principe Coba from it's opening in 2005. As the club/reception manager, I oversaw 6 staff responsible for 24 hour reception and guest relations for all guests staying in the club portion of the resort.

I specialized in Metaphysical and Contemporary & Analytical Philosphy. Most of my students were in entry-level philosphy, having trouble understanding how to read and understand a philosphical work. My overall goal with my students was to teach them how to independantly do the work and transfer that knowledge into real life scenarios.
