As a dispatch and customer service coordinator, I was able to communicate with 85% or more of my drivers weekly and form relationships with them. A lot of drivers tend to get lonely while being out on the road, so being able to brighten up their day with just a 5 or 10 minute phone call was awesome. Although, the majority of the time I spoke with drivers, I also spoke with customers. My goal for both customers and drivers, was for them to have a great experience.

As a teller I was able to help many people over the years with a variety of services and problems, in person or over the phone. While working at IMCU, the most important thing I learned was empathy and patience. We never know what is going on in someone's life, so if they come in angry or frustrated, I learned its not about my feelings, but being there for my members. I developed many relationships over the years, which is what motivated me. We value customer service and showing our customers how much we really appreciated their service.

My internship with the Center for Peace and Conflict Studies was only for a semester. During my semester, I wrote articles about peace activists that were featured in the Olive Branch newsletter. I also helped organize monthly panels that discussed issues within the community. Even though I was there for a few months, I learned that unity is so important, because unity can solve problems that are current within our society.
