The next big idea that will reinvent how we live, work, and play is being created right now somewhere in America. I want to meet those builders before they enter the halls of government for the first time and help them navigate the road ahead in cities, states and countries around the world. I welcome invitations to network, and invite you to connect via email or LinkedIn. My career began in campaign management 15 years ago, where I learned how to organize and motivate broad coalitions of citizens to take action for political change. Since then, I have put my skills to work solving the world’s most complex public policy challenges. First tackling global climate change and low carbon economic development; then attacking public labor, education and policing reform; and now writing the playbook for how we improve urban mobility in an increasingly app-based transportation world. The most important public policy challenges are unfolding at the intersection of existing regulatory frameworks and innovative new technologies. Smart companies can meet these challenges and thrive by starting conversations early with government, educating the broader public about societal benefits born from the products and services we all increasingly use, and mobilizing users to continuously demand better regulatory systems that meet their needs. It’s not about governments losing or companies winning, but about finding ways to update regulatory playbooks and create better results for citizens, users, regulators and companies alike. I’m at my best implementing public affairs strategies that create space for collaboration and competition between both sides. As a graduate of the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, I was trained to approach every public policy challenge as an opportunity to “let builders build,” while never jeopardizing a fair and competitive market. I look forward to having a conversation with you.
