Photographing people is my specialty. I endeavour make all my portraits of people with a sense of empathy and attention to the little details. The photographs I make for clients are contemporary in style, simple, classic, fresh, and more than anything emotive and made for impact. I work with organisations, the director of communications, a marketing manager, art directors, picture editors or directly with individuals.The assignment could be the profile portrait of the CEO of a company, photographs for the main page of an organisations website, or marketing images to be used in advertising, editorial or social media. My documentary and portrait work for not for profit organisations like The Fred Hollows Foundation are used in fundraising appeal advertising and editorial stories. The images are often used across multiple types of media, newspapers, website, print, social media, and sometimes outdoor metro light.Since I started thirty years ago as a staff photographer at News Limited I have photographed people across the full spectrum of human life. Some of my career clients have been TIME magazine, The Australian and Der Spiegel.Working in media for thirty years has given me the confidence to handle most photographic situations even when everything changes in the last minute. My forte has been the ability to work fast when it's needed. With planning and preparation often a huge amount of time is not needed. It is working on location that I am especially at my best, solving all the problems that arise with the unpredictability of the location shoot with a busy executive with a tight schedule.With my corporate Headshot Portraits I have developed a way of working with people that builds confidence in even the most camera shy person. I capture the moments where people relax and are at their best. The selected portraits I gently retouch in a very natural way. I want the portraits to be flattering while at the same time people to be authentic.
