Senior Director Of Data Engineering
CurrentI've had the opportunity to lead engineering teams for the majority of my career at MasterControl. Creating the greatest teams on the planet! We run our engineering department using the Agile methodology. We promote innovation throughout and are always adding technologies to our radar. “The right tool for the job” Some of the languages, tools, and frameworks we use include Kafka, AWS, GCP, H20.ai, Spark, Airflow, S3, Confluent, Scala, EMR, Snowflake, Python, Mongo, MSSQL, Oracle, JAVA, ColdFusion, JQuery, AngularJS, React, .Net, Clojure, and Ruby on Rails.I've been very lucky to be able to fill many roles. As the Director of Data Engineering, I am having a blast creating and working with our world-class team of data engineers, BI data analysts, database administrators, and AI/ML engineers. As Database Administrator for MasterControl, I create and promote database standards for our engineering department. I also sit on our scalability team, continually optimizing and securing for maximum scalability and usability. This role hasn't held only to development, throughout the company I've helped mentor, monitor, optimize, move, maintain, secure, and consult on all our database systems. Some of the most fun I've had in the DBA role has come from data warehouses and delivering reports to help focus our strategic planning. I have also really enjoyed working on cloud systems, AWS, GCP, and Azure, and learning how to continue to expand our offerings over a global platform.I feel as if I’m the luckiest person on earth to have the job I do with the company I love.
