I have always felt compelled to innovate my own tools and methods. Scientifically, alongside my colleague and friend Martin Wildenberg and with support from Uygar Özesmi, we developed FCMapper, the first free, Excel-based analysis tool for fuzzy cognitive maps (FCM). FCMapper is the most widely used tool globally for working with FCM, which supports the development of expert systems and scenarios for decision support and interactive media like computer games. Artistically, I modify cameras and lenses, use stacking and stitching techniques in high-resolution photography and photomicrography, and employ screen scraping and data mining technologies. In 2013, I introduced large-scale gigapixel photomicrography (3m Diasec) into art exhibitions, pioneering this practice. Collaborating with scientists under ArtScienceSociety (together with Eduard Rysavy and Martin Wildenberg), we sonified scientific data using low-frequency (infra)sound to directly influence emotional states. In 2016, INFORMA, a sound installation addressing strategies for media coverage, was exhibited at OSTRALE’O16 in Dresden, Germany, as part of another team (together with Aleksandra Kolodziejczyk and Karl Wratschko). In 2018, Stefan Resch and I created "Pushing the Mouse," a large computer mouse that requires participants to push it through a city to play a game. This project illustrates how collaboration is essential for achieving goals and demonstrates that tasks typically performed by office workers or scientists, like using a mouse, can be surprisingly challenging.Besides this team projects I blend digital photography with historic processes like wet plate collodion photography to create unprecedented images that endure over time. Additionally, I constructed a camera that replicates insect vision, using 35.000 drinking straws to produce a low-resolution 180x90cm photo on x-ray film. Currently, as part of my doctoral studies, I am developing a high-resolution 2.5D and 3D scanner for insects. I am also building bigger scanners, along with large screen projections and visualizations, to present the scans in an interactive and immersive manner.I thrive in transdisciplinary environments, bridging art and science, technology and society which I am passionate about. Currently, my focus is more on the artistic side, how art can influence reality. My specialties include extreme high-res photography, 2.5D to 3D scanning, interactive 2,5D and 3D visualizations (online and offline), FCM, and scientific and artistic methods based on AV media, with a background in both fine arts and sciences.
