The Chief Philanthropy Officer oversees all new donor development andthe stewardship of existing donors. As such, both the Director of Development and theDirector of Donor Relations report to the Chief Philanthropy Officer. These 3 positionscomprise the Philanthropy Team. The Chief Philanthropy Officer is a member of theCommunity Foundation’s senior management team and will lead, in consultation withthe President, the creation and implementation of a comprehensive development planto accomplish the strategic plan growth goals of the Community Foundation. Thisincludes all fund and asset development for the Community Foundation, including alldonor created funds (DAF’s, scholarship, designated, and the like), additions to thePermanent Fund for Northern Virginia, and planned gifts. The position will also focus oncurrent year fundraising for operations, including the annual Gala, sponsorshipdevelopment for other signature events and initiatives, and other fundraising goals asthey may develop over time. The Chief Philanthropy Officer will also oversee thestewardship of existing donors. This includes the provision of excellent donor serviceand other high-quality interactions with the Community Foundation that foster long-term engagement and further investment in the Community Foundation and its keyinitiatives.
