As an intern for the Mayor's Internship Program in Apex, North Carolina, I served as a part of the Environmental team to ensure the Town of Apex was safe. I was able to utilize writing skills to format and construct policy for Mayor Jaques Gilbert, and use organizational skills to create meeting agendas and lead team meetings, and utilize social skills to engage with citizens of Apex during town events.

As an Assistant Coach for the 12 Oaks Torpedoes Swim Team at the Club at 12 Oaks, I cultivated leadership skills through coaching a team of 210 swimmers. As a tutor at Mathnasium, I expanded my leadership and communication skills through tutoring math to many young learners. I learned more effective communication through teaching fundamental concepts of math to learners who had little to no background on the topics and used my leadership skills to effectively engage up to 5 students learning separate topics at one time and thrive in my workplace with other employees. This job gave me relevant experience to communicate with a wide range of people.
