The Enterprise Services Group is responsible for Ebsco’s backend Searching, Content, Indexing, and Linking technologies. We practice Agile development methodologies through iterative and incremental development. Work with the Content Services team that develops Ebsco’s latest back-end content storage for their online databases. Contribute to developing the document-database and run-time publishing system. The two main repositories for loading and retrieving of online content. The document database is a schema-less document-style database that stores UTF-8 encodings for rich XML markup. The content is stored in MARCXML record feeds comprising mostly of full-text journals, magazines and books. The run-time publishing system was developed for EBOOKS where the documents are broken up and stored as PDF pages, cover images, and raw text for searching.Tools: Java, Java5 Concurrency API’s, XML, BDB, MySQL, Liquibase, Glassfish, EJB3, JPA, MySQL, EasyMock, GWT, GXTSupport the Production Configuration Server used to automate the build, index, and replication processes. The tool allows command line tools as well as a web module to communicate with back-end services to maintain the state of the production build process and structure. • Design, Develop, and Test software solutions that support Vicor's MES and ERP systems. This involved creating Web Applications, Web Services, Business Process’s, and Updating Legacy Systems.• Web applications are built on the Struts Framework and deployed onto Tomcat. The MVC is built around Oracle, Hibernate, JDBC, JSP, XML, JSTL, AJAX, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and JAVA. • Web Services are written in Java and deployed onto Tomcat using AXIS. Legacy C Code that is being update to a web service is built using gSoap and deployed as a CGI on Apache web server. • Convert Legacy Systems built on CellWorks in C that utilizes a proprietary MBX Bus. The components: PLC (Program Logic Device), GUI (written in Swing), DB Srv and Bar Code Reader are replaced with new Java components or wrapped into web services.• Convert legacy PHP and ASP apps used by Managers and Engineers to interact with the MES (Manufacturing Execution System) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems. These are updated to Java or BPEL.• Lead Engineer supporting Infrastructure with emphasis on Tomcat, Web Application, Web Services, and new technology (Spring, GWT (Google Web Toolkit), JAX-WS and JBOSS). • Regression and load testing applications and web services using JMeter, ProxySniffer, Junit. • Worked on numerous issues involving Tomcat and Apache. Including: Configuration, Memory, Garbage Collector, Threads, and Connections. • Supported the infrastructure group on a adding a Load Balancer to ensure high availability. • Supported Red Hat/JBOSS on installing a certifying JBOSS environment.

Implement and Design C Software for a real time Control System. The distributed control system was implemented with multiple Motorola 68K series processors using the pSOS operating system. The intricatesystem design included: GUI/MMI, touch screen, motor controls, scheduling algorithms and serial communications. The development environment was Microsoft Visual C++, compiled on a VAX/VMS Tektronix 68K compiler/linker. The design emphasized fault tolerance/detection.Developed internal Web Applications for the Engineering Department. Designed the databases using SQL Server, the front end was built with Active Server Pages and JavaScript, and the data was transferred via Stored Procedures in SQL. The tools used were Visual InterDev, SQL Server, ASP, ADO, SQL, JavaScript, VB Script and HTML.
