Engineers Australia is the peak body for the engineering profession, working to advance the science and practice of engineering for the benefit of the community. This position is responsible for leading a team of advisors, developing public policy advice and thought leadership on behalf of the engineering profession. This includes developing and executing the business unit's group plan, delivering on Engineers Australia’s corporate strategy by enhancing the profession’s societal impact and promoting engineers as global leaders, advocates and innovators.Achievements:- Developed and led a high-performing team ensuring our policy and advocacy strategy has impact and provides leadership to and on behalf of the profession. - Scoped and commissioned research on the impact of AI on the engineering profession. Research came in on budget and under time and delivered on the scope, positioning Engineers Australia as an evidence provider in the public discourse on AI. - Effectively advocated to government on critical issues for Engineers Australia and the engineering profession. This included meeting with Commonwealth Ministers to discuss and influence policies aimed at strengthening the engineering workforce in Australia to meet government priorities including AUKUS, key infrastructure investments, and decarbonising the economy.- Developed and advocated for Engineers Australia’s policy positions on critical areas, including skills development, migration, infrastructure, transport, innovation and AI, defence, sustainability, decarbonisation, and climate change adaptation.
