Youth developer, trainer, mentor, event planner. I don't believe in work, I just happen to be paid for things I am passionate about.- 20 Years in the Youth Development field: creating and facilitating programs for ages 6-18 year old youth. Area's of programming include (but not limited to) sports, recreation, healthy lifestyles, education, job readiness, and youth leadership/community engagement- In those 20 years I have supported the development of many youth developers, often training them in program basics, program facilitation, positive discipline, youth leadership and leadership opportunities, and career pathing- As a young adult, I also created multiple nightlife events. This role included the hiring of talent and other-like positions, marketing, budgeting, working with management, and day of operationsIn my current role I spend much of my time maintaining and building community relationships both formally and informally. This comes in the form of a partnership process, meetings, and holding high expectations not just for myself and the organization I represent, but for those I work with as well.As an employee, I enjoy having and/or creating process. This allows for longevity in not just the work, but in the roles and positions involved. I want to ensure that whoever follows the work we do will have a blueprint to work and improve from. I believe in strong communication, to do lists, and high expectations. I do not believe in lowering expectations, I believe in training up to the expectations. That is how we continue to grow and build. That is how we can be truly great. I work hard to be a person of "seven crumbs". Ensuring that we deal with every issue with the highest of professionalism and with such efficiency that all that is left is the "seven crumbs" left in the cracks.During the pandemic, I have either led, or supported a more unified After School Program effort in our neighborhood (there are several), an open space program called Play Streets that allows for a block closure to allow for safe space for families, another open space program called Shared Spaces to allows for businesses to extend their businesses safely outdoors due to block closure, a school supply drive, COVID-19 testing, among other neighborhood and city support projects.I am, at all times, a representative. I represent myself and my beliefs, my family and the work we have done, and the organization who proudly hires me.
