Accomplishments:Silicon Mechanics: Critical Systems Architecture Uplift Project As manager of the software development team, I designed and executed a plan to live-migrate the company’s undocumented custom ERP and supporting IT services from an aging and rapidly-failing legacy open-source architecture to a modern enterprise-ready Windows Active Directory environment. The project successfully resolved a serious ongoing business risk to the company (potentially $70 million in lost revenue annually), while adhering to best-practices. Silicon Mechanics: Supermicro Marketplace/Mini-Configurator ProjectAs the software development team manager, I was tasked with leading a turnaround effort to save a failing major project (a customer-facing product configuration tool) that if unsuccessful would have cost the company two years of lost effort, and left it uncompetitive in the online marketplace. The project was completed on time, on budget, and achieved all the original (and additional) goals, and ensured that the company remained competitive.Silicon Mechanics: Network Security Penetration-Testing ProjectAs manager of the IT department, I brought quarterly penetration testing required for annual Microsoft SSPA audits in-house as a cost-saving measure. This resulted in cost savings of upwards of $18K per year in consulting fees.Megapath: Special Project - Business Support Ticket CleanupThe Megapath acquisition of Speakeasy resulted in well over 2000 business support tickets becoming critically aged with no response to customers. I was given executive-level authority to contact affected customers, negotiate required credit adjustments, and escalate technical troubleshooting to Support when needed. 100% of the trouble tickets were resolved and closed within 80% of the budgeted time.
