Director - Every Good Boy Deserves Favour By Stoppard
Every Good Boy Deserves Favour has previously been banned in Russia. This is the Russian premiere in a new translation. This was the Russian premiere. The play deals with the issue of the wrongful imprisonment of political dissidents in mental asylums in the 1970's and 80's. It is a good follow-up to my site-specific production of Beethoven's Fidelio in the summer of 2010. This was a massive success and we hope to revive it in 2012. See the Facebook group - FIDELIO in the Gulag".................I think your production of EGBDF is magnificent. I’m shamefaced that it has taken me all this time to be able to thank you and congratulate you. I admired everything about it – the actors especially, but the continual inventiveness and style of the whole thing, the movement, the dancers, the physicality and the look of it all. But the two Ivanovs above all. I hope you will have an opportunity to convey my admiration to them especially, and indeed to all six of them. I loved the teacher too. I thought you cast it so well. " Tom Stoppard
