My research examined the organisation, classification, and retrieval of images from Visual Lifelogs using a variety of machine learning and signal processing algorithms. The majority of my work was completed in C/C++ and Matlab and SQL Server was used to manage the large volume of data.During my research, I was involved with the EU funded aceMedia project, involving 13 industrial and academic partners from 9 countries. My work in this project consisted of the development of low-level audio, image, and video processing tools. The software was devloped using C/C++ on the linux platform.In addition, I spent a number of months working at Joanneum Research in Graz, Austria, as part of my PhD research. -
Software DeveloperBank Of Ireland 2000 - 20044, IeI developed and maintained a suite of MIS, Financial Reporting, and CRM systems for Bank of Ireland Life and Bank of Ireland Insurance Services. Working closely with users from the Finance departments of both areas, I was responsible for supporting existing financial reporting and MIS systems; working with users to analyse and implement new requirements; plan, implement and test new solutions; and maintain database hardware systems. Working with the CRM teams, I provided support to the Campaign Management teams, as well as implementing new solutions as required. The systems used in this role were SQL Server 7 & 2000, Oracle, Microstrategy Agent, Brio, and Amdocs CRM Management tools.
