Texas Multifamily Real Estate InvestmentsMike B. Phillips, CCIM, CPM, ("MBP") began his real estate journey at a young age in California in the 1980's. During this time, Mike's academic and practical education and experiences in real estate steered him towards a "multifamily" focus. In the early 1990's, Mike was hired by a company out of Los Angeles that was purchasing, renovating, and managing multifamily properties in Austin, Texas. Mike was hired on to wear multiple hats for the company including brokerage responsibilities as well as Mike's first taste of B and C class multifamily property management and investments. During this period, Mike was involved in the acquisition and renovation of approximately 3,500 C class units in Austin. Mike was then involved in the disposition of this portfolio in Austin and the exchange into approximately 8,500 units in Dallas / Fort Worth. In the late 1990's, Mike ventured out on his own, starting several multifamily focused companies. Mike began to raise money and buy deals closing on his first "personal" acquisition in 2000. Since then, Mike has been involved in the ownership of over 5,000 units with an estimated value over $175,000,0000. During Mike's career, he has brokered over 250 multifamily transactions and has been directly responsible for the property management of over 30,000 units with an estimated asset evaluation over $1 billion. Mike is a survivor of multiple life events including an airplane crash (2007) and Stage 4 Cancer (2008-2009). Mike is a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), a Certified Property Manager (CPM) and is a licensed broker in Colorado and Texas . Mike holds a Commercial Pilot's Certificate (multi-engine, instrument, and a past Flight Instructor) with over 2,000 logged flight hours. A native of Los Angeles, California, Mike attended San Diego State University where he studied Real Estate and Finance.
