Managed capital, outage and environment projects in NRG’s fleet. Projects ranged in cost from $100,000 to $240,000,000.• Completed all projects on time and on budget, leaving the plant customers happy.Developed and managed project engineering for the Seward Project, a 500 MW waste coal power plant near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Set the budget and schedule for this $800 million project, including preparing the request for EPC proposals, negotiating scope and final price with the contractor (Fluor and Alstom). Resolved community and permit issues.• The Seward Project was named “Plant of the Year” in Power Magazine’s September 2004 issue.

Provided development engineering support to Business Development Managers in Ecuador, Argentina, Venezuela, Ireland, USA, Kenya, Ghana, Tunisia, Egypt, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Vietnam and China. Screened projects, set contry specific commercial strategies, performed competitor analysis, managed engineering companies, consultants, EPC contractors and vendors. Responsible for site selection, equipment selection, configuration, performance, capital cost estimates, O&M cost and schedules. Fuels include natural gas, LNG, diesel oil, heavy oil, coal and waste coal.Lead and/or supported seven, formal, bonded proposals in response to international tenders for electric power supply.Participated on the team that acquired 2 separate power plants in Ecuador. The all equity purchase was for 130 MW’s of simple cycle, diesel fueled, gas turbine plants. Managed the technical due diligence, assisted in negotiations of new Power Purchase Agreement and new Environmental permit.
