Michael is a Director at SV Partners. Admitted as a Solicitor in 1999, Michael practiced in commercial law before becoming an insolvency practitioner. In addition to maintaining his Practicing Certificate as a Lawyer, Michael is a Liquidator and Bankruptcy Trustee.He has spent his entire career helping people impacted via challenged businesses. His focus has shifted in the past decade from pure insolvency to restructuring and informal workouts via negotiations with key stakeholders.In addition to his work for clients, Michael has invested significant amount of time in volunteering in the not-for-profit sector with a focus on small business assistance and Professional Associations. As part of contributing back to the insolvency and legal professions, Michael, amongst other things;• was a member of the Qld Law Society Council From 2016 to 2022 including the role of Deputy President of the Qld Law Society and• Previously was the Deputy Chair of the ARITA Qld State Committee and member of the National Board of ARITA; • Was previously the Chair of both the Townsville Business Development Centre and the Northern Rays Netball franchise.
