Completed my Master's Degree in engineering and management at MIT School of Engineering and Sloan School of Management. The SDM program emphasizes leadership and technical systems thinking to manage and solve complex challenges in innovation, product design & development.The focus of my research was the identification of unmet needs and optimization of the associated device solutions of novel adhesive biomaterials.

Managed 20+ member cross-functional project team to ensure timely completion of program deliverables to bring product concept through development to active clinical trial. Completed or managed testing, analysis and risk justifications of design changes for FDA submissions of the Neuro-Spinal Scaffold.Managed research activities of second generation technology for chronic spinal cord injury. Led development team on evaluating materials and methods for stem cell attachment and survival. Communicated testing results to development team members to continuously improve and optimize design.Established and manageed relationships with local university representatives (NEU, MIT, WPI and WIT) to build co-op/intern program within the R&D group. Reviewed resource needs of R&D managers to determine optimal utilization of co-op resource for maximum benefit for both the co-op and the company.

Technical project lead for the design of a new catheter platform utilized on the infusion balloon product line. Led efforts to improve the handling of cardiovascular catheter by prototyping alternative designs using materials of varying properties. Created 3D models and drawings utilizing Solidworks to establish bill of materials and perform preliminary flow calculations.

Project lead for improvements to existing suture passing device. Led development efforts to improve the product strength and implement solution with external supplier. Worked with multifunctional team to update appropriate documentation for product design history file and regulatory submissions.Technical lead for team designing next generation knotless anchor system. Responsible for test method and test fixture development, test execution, analysis and reports. Report data used in FDA 510(k) submissions.

Set up and validate (IQ/OQ) mirror production line to increase manufacturing capacity of delivery systems for embolic coils. Assisted in the root cause evaluation of poor product performance with Principal Development Engineer.Technical co-lead for development of new neurovascular stent delivery system. Designed delivery system using Solidworks and identified suppliers to prototype several iterations used to improve the reliability and robustness of the system. Assisted with the generation of patent submission by providing technical background and drawings of device.Support operations and quality group through product investigations and testing.

Design production equipment using Solidworks. Test fitment and ease of use with production personnel with rapid prototype components. Upon successful testing of prototype components, assembled machined components, completed system wiring and programmed motion controller.Completed multilayer DOE to optimize process parameters, building and testing prototypes during each layer to create a robust and reliable process to repeatably meet product specifications.Provided support to operations group developing tools and fixtures for production in a clean room environment. Assisted manufacturing engineers by creating Solidworks models and prototypes using 3D printing for evaluation by pilot production personnel.

Worked in a team setting to identify customer requirements through voice of customer discussions and assist in the translation to technical requirements. Evaluated different components and methods to meet the newly established requirements by prototyping and testing different designs. Provided weekly updates to management upon prototype testing completion.

Redesigned test set-up, using Solidworks, to characterize fluid flow through the impeller of the ventricular assist device. Built necessary components in the RIT machine shop to complete redesign prior to graduation. Worked closely with lead tool maker to machine a custom shaft balanced for speeds up to 30k RPM. Collaborated with professor to identify areas for improvement of control system before writing program in LabView for easy operation.

Worked in a cross-functional team to plan transition from a single to a dual distribution center (DC) supply system. Analyzed SKU level inventory and sales history trends using SAP and BW. Utilized Microsoft Excel Macros for reliable generation of summary reports of 5+ years inventory data for over 250 product codes.Developed custom program using Microsoft Excel VB to plan for future inventory transition based on current inventory levels and SKU specific information. Modeled expansion capabilities of the new distribution center to aid in long term capacity planning.

Increased sales of custom cables by working directly with Magnum and Harley Davidson management along with international and domestic suppliers to develop and manufacture a new tool used for measuring custom length cables on Harley Davidson motorcycles.Expanded product line for import motorcycle cables by 75%. Produced prototypes to verify that the products were within specification.Implemented a company-wide drawing control system to manage creation and revision of all drawings. Modified the existing database to restrict access, eliminating the risk of unauthorized changes to product drawings.

Set-up, executed and monitored standards tests such as lifetime performance, abuse and environmental testing.Interpreted customer requirements to design a test plan and fabricate test setups for abuse and validation testing of wiper systems.Monitored testing process, assisted with failure analysis and presented findings to plant management.
