Most specifically, this included:1) Common connectivityThis group focused on how we received inventory (hotel rooms, room rates, room details, and other related content) from partner channels, such as PMSs, Booking Engines, and brand direct inventory suppliers. 2) SalesforceThis group owned all of the end-to-end needs that our sales teams across Hotels, Restaurants, and Display pillars needed in order to effectively sell our paid product offerings to our customers. 3) Owner experience This included all of the UIs and systems needed to support a hotelier or restauranteur that had a presence on Tripadvisor, including: how they signup, how they collect reviews, how they manage their profiles, how they view, collect and pay their bills, manage users associated with their account, and more. While in this role, the team began the process of overhauling this entire owner experience. 4) Purchase flowsThis team focused on how new and existing businesses bought paid products and advertising on Tripadvisor. It included both front end systems, as well as the back end infrastructure that powered offline sales through systems like Salesforce. 5) Data needsWhile under my leadership, the group was also responsible for improving the state of Tripadvisor's core business data needs. This included cataloguing and standardizing core product SKUs in a common way, making different discounting strategies, billing strategies, payment methods and processes, and overall cash collection more simple to understand across a huge suite of product offerings.
