Appointed by the late Mayor Michael A. Guido to modernize and energize the City's then-Department of Citizen Resources and Information. Identified, developed, coordinated and integrated key messages between the Department's two major divisions: public information and City of Dearborn Television (CDTV) as well as among City departments. While responsible for nine full-time and approximately 50 part-time employees, the Department produced numerous CDTV programs, including the news magazine, Dearborn Journal; The Mayor's Forum; Rec -n- Sports; and, Meet Your Council. The Department also directed development of the City Calendar and Annual Report, as well as taking the lead in organizing community events such as the Homecoming festival, the Memorial Day Parade and Veterans' Day Ceremony. Assumed numerous other priority responsibilities, as needed, such as several examples of crisis communications and deploying communications strategies for the City's 2000 United States Census outreach program.
