I work directly with closely held private businesses and their owners. All of my time is spent in tax consulting and staying abreast of the ever-changing federal tax scene. I began my career in the audit/assurance function. This greatly assists me in understanding a clients business and multiple different approaches in maintaining operational records. However, the best way to know the business and owner is to spend time out of the office getting to know the operations with the people who are running the business. It is my job to offer suggestions, ideas, what-if's that minimize taxes without causing disruption to the main strategy of a successful enterprise. No one should mind paying taxes; it is what makes this country work. However, no one is required to pay more than their fair share. I look not only at the business and owners income tax consequences, but also make suggestions for transferring wealth to the next generation(s). The goal is to communicate the advantages/disadvantages of choosing various paths when one walks through the tax jungle and to work as a team with the businesses/owners other advisors.Specialties: Tax consulting/planning for closely held businesses and their owners.
