Michael Cannell is the Senior HSEQ Manager for the Subsea Cable Group within J.F. Brennan Company, Inc., a marine construction firm celebrating over 100 years in business. Based in La Crosse, Wisconsin, Brennan has offices and provides client services from coast to coast.In his role, Mr. Cannell is responsible for health and safety, environmental, compliance and quality functions for Subsea Cable Group operations. He collaborates with clients on all HSEQ matters and leads these areas for the group from development through execution to measurement and continuous improvement. Michael holds Lead Auditor certifications for ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 standards.Prior to joining Brennan in 2015, Michael held local and worldwide management positions in the chemical and global trade compliance fields following eight years of active duty service in the United States Marine Corps. Michael studied at the University of California at Irvine, with a concentration in environmental engineering. In addition to international deployments with the Marines, Mr. Cannell has traveled extensively and lived abroad in Hong Kong and the Republic of Ireland.Mr. Cannell has practical, operational experience, in industry and consulting activities as a former member of KPMG US and other firms. He has been a panelist and speaker at numerous industry events over the course of his career and authored articles on health and safety, quality, technology, compliance, international trade and supply chains and security topics.Michael is involved in programs devoted to veteran’s issues including the Marine for Life mentoring program and other initiatives designed to help veterans transition to civilian life. When he’s not at work, you can typically find Mr. Cannell involved with his family, dog, woodworking in his shop, Jeep-related pursuits, or actively learning something new.
