Michael's primary roles at HIQ are to assist with the design and implementation of our customer’s infrastructure, provide various (tiered) levels of support and maintenance to our customers, and provide guidance and mentoring to the rest of the engineering team. He has gained a much expanded knowledge of the integral IT systems needed to shape, protect, and maintain our infrastructures. His expertise includes: Microsoft AD and Exchange, VMware Virtualization and VDI, Enterprise Networking (Firewall, VPN, Switching and Routing, and Wireless Networking), Fiber and iSCSI SAN Management, and other key components like SPAM Filtering, Content Filtering, and various security (Anti-Virus and Gateway Services) layers.

Michael's roles at BPD included configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of the network and server infrastructure, SSL VPN, backups, and McAfee's EPO. He was also involved in assisting contractors with implementation of new systems and upgrades of existing systems. Michael was able to quickly gain an understanding of enterprise server and network infrastructures and gain the confidence of his peers and supervisors.
