One major accomplishment was being a key contributor to a Chinese owned startup; Yanfeng (YF) USA. In 2009 China's YF Interiors, decided to manufacture in North America. I was one of a team of three in NA that “planted the seed”, tasked to startup and grow YF USA. This required a whatever it takes attitude to develop a plan and execute new operations in the United States. I lead a team to create this startup company that produces automotive interior components, performs sequence operations and shipped JIT to assembly plants. I was responsible for locating the initial site location, building renovations, establishing mfg processes & material flow, IT, and hiring initial work force. I also worked the city, county and state for tax abatement. By 2010 YF USA had sales of $36 million. By 2013 YF USA launched two Brownfield and one Greenfield sites. During this period I led the AME Team, developing all manufacturing processes, tooling, facility layouts, packaging and specified/source equipment for each facility. In 2014 Yanfeng merged with Johnson Controls in a $7.5 billion joint venture and became the world largest interior supplier. My efforts during the initial plant startup set the foundation of YF USA which grew to a multi-billion dollar organization that supplies automotive trim to all major OEMs, with plants around the world.I am a direct, no nonsense technical/engineering problem solver with the foresight to head off issues before impacting company goals. I’ve utilized leadership competencies which result in customer satisfaction, talent development/retention, design/development and mfg excellence. I drive for well executed programs by developing a solid plan.
