I teach V700 (Strategic Business Analysis and Valuation) in the MBA program.

I am pleased, proud, honoured, and privileged to have been asked to be part of the McMaster University Department of Athletics and Recreation as an assistant varsity swim coach. I bring a passion for amateur athletics (particularly at the university level) and a fair bit of knowledge and experience to the position. Most importantly, I can attest with first-hand experience how combining athletics with academics throughout one's secondary and post-secondary career builds the focus, dedication, and teamwork that helps people become successful in life in all aspects of careers and relationships (in other words, health and happiness). To have an active role in this environment is extremely fulfilling.

Ancaster Baseball is a non-profit organization involved in baseball for boys, 12+ and softball for all ages of girls. I help organize the softball side of the operations and I coach teams whenever I am needed. I teach the correlation between hard work/focus and success through Softball. I keep the practices and competitions fun but focused and enthusiastic. "We let the scoreboard take care of itself. We focus on the series of small, individual successes that will, in the long-term, bring success to us all as a team"

In keeping with my passion for amateur sports, I help a group of young swimmers develop skills and an enjoyment of competitive swimming. I spend between four and five half hours most weeks on deck in training sessions. We compete at swim meets about once or twice each month. I am intimately involved in training-program design and implementation. It is a very rewarding position. Seeing the smiles on the faces when I have successfully helped them to learn a new aspect of swimming or racing, is a special feeling. AAST is fortunate to have many wonderful volunteers, parents and athletes as part of the group.

Using my financial experience gained through over 30 years of practice as an accountant and business valuator, I help the lawyers as Ross & McBride with the financial aspects of a wide variety of litigation, corporate, and other legal matters.

A practice leader with Taylor Leibow since 1998, Mike practices solely in the areas of Business Valuations and Litigation Support. A member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators, Mike has obtained the top professional designation awarded to litigation accountants and business valuators. He is also recognized by the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants as an expert in business valuations, having been granted the CA•CBV designation.Over his 20 years of consulting with entrepreneurs and other professional advisors, Mike has developed a unique process to ensure the firm's clients get the most value for the services of his department. Every client-service opportunity begins with a detailed assessment of the goals and objectives of the project. A suite of services is then designed to ensure deliverables created by Mike and his team will maximize the chances of success.Mike has been recognized by Canadian courts as an expert in the fields of Business Valuations and Economic Analysis and can assist legal counsel in all aspects of the litigation process.Through his skills, technical knowledge and experience, Mike and his team also help entrepreneurs grow their businesses through strategic acquisitions and helping entrepreneurs realize the fruits of a lifetime of labour by planning and executing effective exit strategies.
