Mike has been advising clients in tax, accounting, and strategic business matters since 1995, working with national, local, and regional firms. He likes to speak about tax, business transactions, comics, and history, and he writes about at least a couple of those vocationally. Mike has led tax and advisory practices in multiple industries. He has worked with businesses and individuals of all sizes on tax, structuring, transactional, and strategic issues. His specialty areas include mergers & acquisitions, strategic planning and management, and partnership and corporate taxation, including in-depth planning related to formation, operation, and combination of complex business ventures. Mike has also served in various practice management capacities and has led campus recruiting groups for many years. Mike is licensed by the State of Mississippi and is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Mississippi Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA). Mike served from 2004 through 2006 as a trustee of the Mississippi Tax Institute, serving as chairman in 2006. He is a graduate of both Leadership Madison County and Leadership Mississippi and served for years as a member of the MSCPA’s Taxation Committee. Mike has spoken and taught in a number of venues. He was named one of the Mississippi Business Journal’s Top 40 Under 40 for 2009, is a former member of the Rotary Club of Jackson, and has worked with Junior Achievement in both Jackson and Dallas.Mike was a Taylor Medalist and graduated summa cum laude at the University of Mississippi, where he received both his Bachelor of Accountancy degree in Accounting in 1994 and his Master of Accountancy with Tax Emphasis in 1995. He did pretty well on the CPA exam, too.
